A mirror of the overtone series, the undertone series is both a reflection and obscuring of the natural laws of the harmonic series. Doppelzelt is a collaborative duo between Rebecca Lane (quarter tone flutes) and Thomas Nicholson (viola) investigating the sonic properties of this phenomenon. Playing above and below a modulating central line, the viola and flute reveal these tonal reflections and their inclination to simultaneously grow outwards and point inwards. 

Piccolist Martta Jämsä begins the evening with a performance of Franco Donatoni’s Nidi.

Marc Sabat and Juho Laitinen continue with the latter's Permutations for bells No.3.
