UMUU Ensemble will open the sixth Tulkinnanvaraista season at Pitskun kulttuurikirkko with Christian Wolff’s experimental, playful, Satie-esque work Microexercises. Following the principles of the ensemble, the UMUU musicians approach the piece indirectly through psychophysical and improvisatory exercises. The aim is to develop processes of rehearsing and performing from the perspective of multisensoriality and free association.
